Are there any girl hunters out there? I went deer hunting today, opening day, for the first time in over 30 years! It was wonderful! I didn't see any deer, but just sitting there in the deer blind with my husband in the dark as the light filtered in, was so peaceful and rejuvenating. We will go again next Saturday, and even if no deer show up, we will enjoy the peaceful togetherness in nature.

Congratulations on your doe! Wow! You are lucky to be seeing bucks on your deer cams on your land. I know we have big bucks around because I have seen them! One actually jumped out and hit my SUV last spring! Keep me posted on your hunting experiences. . .I hope to be able to post a pic like yours this season!

Since we live in a wildlilfe sanctuary, all the animals have a field day!! -- We've spotted deer ever since we moved down a year and a half ago - Matter of fact, Noah was standing by the kitchen window last week, making some pumpkin bread, an' I hear him say.."Well!, THAT was interesting.." Me, I'm thinkin' What the...So, I asked what it was, an' he calmly says, "I just saw a three point buck, meander across the street, go into the land across from the front of the house, and disappear into the woods..." Needless to say, we were both rather suprised!! At least the deer didn't eat our veges this summer!!

I'm glad to know you enjoyed the hunting experience. Did ya'll get any deer this year? I love hunting. It feels me with a pride of knowing that I can take care of myself if necessary. I am happy that my dad showed me that element of life.

No deer for us this year, but I had one in view and couldn't find it in my rifle scope! Very disheartening! Deer season has been over for a good while. . .last night driving to town at dusk we saw about six doe grazing in a field, and then on the way home, we saw a buck running for the woods from the road! He had a huge spread of antlers! Figures. . . At least we know there are plenty around for next year!

I love hunting and fishing! I watched Miranda Lambert on a hunting show shoot a turkey!!! It was so cool, my boyfriend was flipping through the hunting channels and I shouted go back!! That was Miranda! I was so proud of her to be on the hunting channel!! LOL!! I think it's awesome when girls are hunters and fisher-women...as I like to say! Plus it's a great way to keep the freezer full :)
